UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship

LOGO UNESCO 2024 english

In today’s globalized and interconnected world, complex challenges urge us to rethink how we relate to one another, to other communities, other species, and to the broader environment we are part of—rather than merely surrounded by.

At the UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship, we recognize education’s powerful role in driving social transformation. That is why we are committed to strengthening the capacities of diverse stakeholders within educational ecosystems and advancing research that generates meaningful knowledge in this field.

We actively share our work and collaborate with organizations to amplify our impact, aiming to promote educational visions and practices that contribute to building more just, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable futures.

Drawing on experience from partnerships with various organizations - especially youth-led -, Ministries of Education in different countries, and international organizations, we aspire to be a regional hub of reference for Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship. We are committed to sharing knowledge and supporting those who embrace this path, fostering transformative education as part of a collective effort that contributes to a better world for all.
