Teacher training in alliance with other organizations

In alliance with Fundación Rewilding Argentina and Habitat Humanitas

In 2019, the Sustainability Education Program (SEP), in alliance with the Rewilding Argentina Foundation (former Conservation Land Trust, CLT), offered training for teachers in the Portal San Nicolás area of the Iberá National Park, in the Province of Corrientes. The activity consisted of an 8-hour in-person workshop in the town of San Miguel for 120 teachers and school principals from the surrounding towns, followed by virtual support on the platform of the provincial Ministry of Education with scoring.

Also, in alliance with Habitat Humanitas, a blended accompaniment process began at Primary School No. 16 "Justo José de Urquiza" and at the Secondary School

Also, in alliance with Habitat Humanitas, a process of blended accompaniment began at Primary School No. 16 "Justo José de Urquiza" and Secondary School No. 721 "Caleta Horno", located in the town of Camarones, Province of Chubut. This activity It is carried out within the framework of the strategy to strengthen communities surrounding natural areas protected for their strategic biodiversity developed by the Habitat Humanitas Program and the Argentina Rewilding Foundation and contributes to the "Sin Azul No Hay Verde" campaign that involves multiple organizations from various sectors in an alliance for the conservation of Patagonian marine-coastal biodiversity.

Contest Germina

The Education for Sustainability Program participated as a jury in the selection of winners of the GERMINA Contest organized by Escuelas Verdes in the years 2017 to 2019.

They also carried out two training days for the winning teachers (in 2017 and 2022) as part of the Germina award. These were training sessions on project incubation aimed at teachers and directors of the winning schools and with mention to carry out their environmental educational project. In 2017, support was also provided for the winning schools to carry out their projects.

Training in the Green Schools Program

We work together with the “Green Schools Program” of the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires (2012-2016) designing and implementing training for managers and teachers for the transversal inclusion of education for sustainability at all levels of schools. In the City of Buenos Aires, 450 teachers from public schools in CABA participated.

Workshop on the use of ICTs to address environmental issues in the classroom: work with “serious games”, Aqua República

Specialists from the Center for Water and Environment of the United Nations Environment Program (Denmark) trained a group of 24 teachers in the use of a simulation game based on the management of a hydrographic basin, designed by Cap- Program Net (UNDP). After the workshop, the teachers and their students participated in a pilot implementation of the use of the game for two months, exchanging experiences and learning between the students and teachers of the participating schools.

In alliance with FVSA and with the support of the embassies of Switzerland and New Zealand, we taught a virtual course that provided a theoretical framework and tools to support participants in the design and implementation of environmental educational projects.
