Study at San Andrés

- San Andrés Dean -

Education may probably be, after the home environment, the most important factor in the life of a person. Choosing the correct institution at which one develops his educational experience is, thus, a responsibility, a challenge and an achievement. At Universidad de San Andrés we are aware of all of these facts and of the importance of education not only at a personal level but also at a community one.

Building futures tries to reflect three main topics of the university’s educational project: higher education is an instrument to provide more opportunities when choosing (in order to build the personal future); higher education also generates an enormous responsibility (since it works as a tool for building other’s future); higher education makes open and multiple futures possible. Individual and collective lives are enriched throughout that search of different paths of knowledge that go beyond a professional career.

That is why our educational proposal includes distinguishing features that makes it unique. It refers to a model that combines general education -typical of the best higher educational tradition- with orientation specialization, provided with a high level of demand and quality. Teachers that, throughout their daily attendance at the campus, constantly accompany students throughout their learning process and that, at the same time, are integrated- through their research and publications –with international academic circuits. . We provide financial aid- grants and educational credits- that make access possible to all of those that take the decision and have the capacity of joining us. Experience at San Andrés is fulfilled through our exchange programs, work internships, links to the best educational institutions of the world, life at the campus, the students association, arts workshops, athletics tournaments, involvement in the community service.

A varied supply of extracurricular and postgraduate activities, in areas of public and private action, compliments and enriches our bachelor programs. All these elements are nourished by a great communitarian and service spirit, and respond to the values that the San Andrés Scottish Educational Civil Association has fostered throughout the country since 1838.

Joint action on behalf of the board of governors, donors, faculty, support personnel, graduates and students is aimed at the education of a genuine university community. I hope you find this guide a fructiferous first step of approach towards this university community to which we encourage you to be part of.
